About the Role

Salty Paws Veterinary Hospital in beautiful Yorktown, VA is looking for a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our close-knit, compassionate team!

What we’re looking for:

• At least 3 years of veterinary technician experience

• A current Virginia Veterinary Technician License

Our LVTs are well-utilized and highly valued for their contributions to: 

• Safe and effective patient handling and restraint 
• Knowledge of preventative care and vaccines 
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring 
• Competency in emergency and surgical care - including IV catheter placement 
• Diagnostics - including radiographs, phlebotomy and sample collection, and in-house lab work 
• Professional, compassionate communication with clients and staff.  
• Succinct documentation of patient records and client interactions.

Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians play a key leadership role in our hospital. We’re looking for someone who is not only skilled but also a strong communicator and team player. Responsibilities include:

• Confidently handling patient admissions and discharges

• Using strong communication skills to educate and support clients

• Maintaining accurate, paperless medical records with attention to detail

• Supervising and training veterinary assistants and kennel assistants

• Applying a practical knowledge of hospital procedures, policies, and treatment protocols

• Demonstrating an appropriate understanding and use of medical protocols

We're looking for someone who leads by example and helps create a positive, collaborative environment for both the team and our clients.

Expected Schedule: 

• Day shifts 

• Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts 

• No more than 35 hours weekly
