About the Role
Salty Paws Veterinary Hospital in beautiful Yorktown, VA is looking for a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our close-knit, compassionate team!

We're looking for someone who:
Communicates clearly and kindly with clients and teammates

Brings strong technical skills and a passion for learning

What we’re looking for:
At least 3 years of veterinary technician experience
A current Virginia Veterinary Technician License
Our LVTs are well-utilized and highly valued for their contributions to:
- Safe and effective patient handling and restraint
- Knowledge of preventative care and vaccines
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring
- Competency in emergency and surgical care - including IV catheter placement
- Diagnostics - including radiographs, phlebotomy and sample collection, and in-house lab work
- Professional, compassionate communication with clients and staff.
- Succinct documentation of patient records and client interactions.

Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians play a key leadership role in our hospital. We’re looking for someone who is not only skilled but also a strong communicator and team player. Responsibilities include:
Confidently handling patient admissions and discharges
Using strong communication skills to educate and support clients
Maintaining accurate, paperless medical records with attention to detail
Supervising and training veterinary assistants and kennel assistants
Applying a practical knowledge of hospital procedures, policies, and treatment protocols
Demonstrating an appropriate understanding and use of medical protocols
We're looking for someone who leads by example and helps create a positive, collaborative environment for both the team and our clients.
Expected Schedule:
- Day shifts
- Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts
- No more than 35 hours weekly
