Patient Arrival Policy:
If your pet should come down with an illness, or if your feel you have an emergency situation that has arisen after our regular business hours or during the weekend, please seek assistance from the Peninsula Emergency Veterinary Clinic on the George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown. You can visit their website by clicking here or call them at (757) 874-8115 for directions to their facility and more information on the services they can provide. The Peninsula Animal Referral Center is open 24 hours a day, 365 day a year, including all weekends and holidays, for emergency and critical care.
Our hospital is fully staffed on Saturday mornings to perform a variety of non-doctor related services for your convenience. These services include nail trims, boarding drop-offs and pick-ups, food purchases, and product and prescription dispensing. Please note that prescriptions must be called in Monday through Friday while we have a veterinarian in the office. Qualified Veterinary Technicians will be available for health care follow-ups, such as blood tests and bandage changes that will be scheduled by the doctor for Saturday mornings.
Our goal is to provide quality health care to all our patients in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only our providers, but our other patients as well. Appointments are in high demand. When you book your appointment, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other patients. We understand that personal schedules change. We want to increase awareness of the importance of early cancellation. Advanced notice will allow another patient access to that appointment time.
Please be aware of our policy regarding missed appointments. A cancellation is preferred 24hrs before the appointed time. If you fail to cancel within 12 hours or simply do not show up, we reserve the right to charge the patient a missed appointment fee. In the event of a true, unavoidable emergency, all or part of your cancellation fee may be waived or applied to future services at our discretion.
Thank you for being a valued client and for your understanding and cooperation as we institute this policy.
